Why a fork

Telegram, without the Google leash.

• De-googled by default

  Firebase and Google Play services are stripped out. Push notifications run over UnifiedPush instead of FCM, so your phone never has to talk to Google to ring.

• Less network tracking

  An opt-in toggle defends against the passive auth_key_id fingerprint that lets a network observer correlate your device across IP changes.

• Open maps and emoji

  Location uses MapLibre and OpenStreetMap, not Google Maps. Emoji are Google Noto, rendered locally. Add custom emoji with the built-in importer.

• Reproducible from source

  BoringSSL, FFmpeg, libvpx, dav1d and the rest are compiled from source. Android ships on F-Droid; Desktop ships on Flathub. No mystery binaries.
